Early Life
Somara Theodore was born on September 28, 1990, in Los Angeles, California, and is currently 34 years old. Her full name is Somara Lenore Theodore. Her parents are of Trinidadian origin. Her mother’s name is Jacinth Theodore and her father’s name is Theodore.
Somara had a younger sister whose name was Simone Theodore. Sadly, though, her sister died on October 9, 2024, after fighting against cancer. She was diagnosed with cancer in October 2023, and died in October 2024. Born on November 11, 1994, in Atlanta, Georgia, Simone was Somara’s only sibling.
According to her obituary, Simone studied broadcast journalism at Oakwood University after attending Pine Forge Academy, and was, toward the end of her life’s journey, working toward her acting career… passed away at the age of 29.
Somara Theodore, although born in Los Angeles, California, grew up in different parts of the United States: New York, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, Georgia, and California. Now, she attributed her interest in the weather and meteorology to her experiences growing up… given that she witnessed different climates as her family moved and lived across the U.S.
Currently 34 years old, Somara’s next birthday is on September 28th… her zodiac sign is Libra. For whatever it’s worth, her family are originally from Trinidad, and so she grew up as a first generation American, even though she is an American citizen by birth.
Education
Somara Theodore graduated high school in the Summer of 2008, just in time before she turned 18. The same year, she enrolled at Penn State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Meteorology and a minor in Energy Business, Finance, and Chinese Language.
She graduated college in 2013, when was 22 years old. And, although she can speak Mandarin and Chinese, her spoken Chinese and Mandarin are at simplified levels.
While in college, she conducted field work in China related to the eutrophication of Lake Taihu. And oh, she also participated in research projects, such as the DISCOVER AQ airborne science project, which was aimed at improving air quality.

Now, they were together for nine years and married for five years. Apparently, she filed for divorce a few days after her sister’s death. Cue into this: a month after her sister’s death, she made a social media comeback after taking a yearlong break, where she announced her sister’s death and also confirmed she had filed for divorce from Scott.
“I’ve grappled thru the death and burial of my 29 year old sister. I’ve held myself gracefully thru my divorce. Dealt with external and internal injuries. And 3 of those happened inside of 10 days.”
Current Partner
Somara found love after her divorce. Now, on January 8, 2025, she soft-launched relationship with her partner by whom she is pregnant. Well…
On June 17, 2025, Somara announced that she and her partner are expecting their first child together.
On August 22, 2025, however, she announced that she needed to undergo an important surgery to keep her baby alive and kicking. She has what she termed “an incompetent cervix or shirt cervix,” which means her cervix is too short to keep her & her partner’s baby alive.
Fortunately, for her and her partner, her surgery at the doctor’s was successful. Cue into this: Somara posted about how the surgical procedure went on August 30, revealing that her cervix is too short, and so was stitched together to keep her baby alive. She is currently five months pregnant and yes, her baby is doing just fine.
Cue into her caption to the update she posted on August 30, 2025, about her baby’s current condition:
“Update: my partner baby and I are doing well. As of now, I’m on bedrest moderately. While I’m happy this means babies growing safely, I do miss bringing you all your weather forecast.
Hopefully, pretty soon, I’ll be able to do more Weather content at home and share that with you. thank you to all those who shared their stories with me. So many of them have left me with hope.
I have made an agreement with myself to have full transparency when it came to this journey because it’s really important to not feel alone and to understand what you’re up against. I hope this video proves helpful.”
Her partner is also documenting their pregnancy journey on Instagram under the username @dadunderconstruction. Somara admitted that her partner took care of her sister while she was in the hospital. Somara is on Instagram under the username @somaratheodore, with 40k thousand followers.
